For over 25 years, the Seven Tepees Youth Program (STYP) has supported young people and their families in San Francisco. Through our direct programming, we have helped thousands of youth, especially Black, Indigenous, and youth of color, develop vital skills, make informed choices, and create pathways to success. In 2022, after careful consideration, we made the tough decision to close our Learning Center and end direct programming.
We established the Seven Tepees Fund as a philanthropic entity to expend our remaining resources. Through the Seven Tepees Fund (STF), we have committed to supporting youth mental health and their connection to nature by providing grants to community programs and clinics that offer mental health services, as well as to organizations that help young people feel a sense of belonging in nature and a responsibility to care for it.
Over the past year, STF has awarded fourteen grants to trusted community-based organizations and clinics in the Bay Area, which will carry forward our legacy of delivering culturally responsive care, fostering connections, and creating opportunities for the youth we have long served.
The board of the Seven Tepees Fund is in the final stages of its work. All grantees have been selected, and the organization will dissolve by the end of 2025. For more information, please contact us at info@seventepees.org.
